It was another hugely successful and action-packed weekend for Le Chéile A.C., with our club hosting Day 1 of the Kildare Track and Field Championships on Saturday 2nd May, followed by fantastic performances from our athletes at the 2026 Dublin City Council Dublin City Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd May.
Kildare Track & Field Championships – Day 1
On Saturday, Le Chéile A.C. proudly hosted Day 1 of the Kildare Track & Field Championships at our track in Leixlip.
We had athletes competing from the Under 8 age groups right up to the Masters M70 category, making it a fantastic day of athletics for all ages and abilities. Thankfully, the weather played its part with beautiful sunshine, warm temperatures, and excellent conditions throughout the day. There was also a brilliant turnout from athletics clubs all across Kildare, with huge numbers participating across a wide range of track and field events.
A very special thank you must go to all our club volunteers, officials, parents, and coaches who worked tirelessly from early morning until the final event of the day to help organise and deliver such a successful championship. A huge amount of planning and hard work went on behind the scenes in the lead-up to the event, and thankfully it all paid off with a very enjoyable and smoothly run day for everyone involved.
It was also fantastic to see so many of our own Le Chéile A.C. athletes competing proudly in club colours throughout the day, producing some brilliant performances across multiple events. Some of the standout results included:

On Sunday, we then had another fantastic day for the club at the Dublin City Half Marathon, with a large number of Le Chéile athletes taking to the streets of Dublin and producing some brilliant performances.
A very special mention and huge congratulations goes to Sinead Kane, who completed the half marathon in an incredible 1:33:35 and was the first visually impaired female athlete home. Sinead was expertly guided by our own John O’Regan, who did a brilliant job supporting and pacing throughout the race. A fantastic example of teamwork, trust, and determination. 👏
Great running also from all our other club members who took on the event:
