🏆 Fantastic Day for Le Chéile AC at 2026 Anglo Celtic Plate 🏆
A massive congratulations to Patricia McLoughlin, who delivered a phenomenal performance to win the National 100km title in 8:14:57 (PB) and set a new Irish W50 record.
Held in the grounds of the University of Limerick on a hot spring day, on Sat 21st March 2026, Patricia also played a key role in helping Team Ireland secure bronze in the international competition — a superb achievement on the international stage.
Patricia, who also serves on the Le Chéile AC committee as Women in Sport representative, is a true role model and inspiration to women/young girls across running, ultrarunning, and athletics as a whole.
A special mention to our Club Coach, John O’Regan, who played a central role as the Anglo Celtic Plate Representative and event organiser, as well as serving as the Director of Communications for the IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) — a true legend of Irish ultrarunning and coaching. Well-done and thank you John!
We also had great support from other club members on the day, Paul Foy (club coach) travelled down to Limerick to offer support to the team by crewing at the aid station, this was greatly appreciated by another club member/coach - Tom Lundy, who ran the open 50km to support the event and also the sport of ultra running in Ireland.
A big shout out to Antony Lee and the crew from Pop Up Races for the event management and timing. Also all the gang from Cherryorchard Running Club who came down to help with marshalling the course. They did an amazing job, it was a long day out there for them but they were so supportive of all the runners!
