 Please take a moment to note the updated Novice Road eligibility rules for 2026 below.

For Kildare Road Championships, an athlete is classed as Novice if they meet the following:

1️⃣ Aged 16 or over by 31st December in the year of competition
2️⃣ Not placed 1st in a County Novice Road Championship in the past 10 years
3️⃣ Not placed 1st or 2nd in a County Intermediate Road Championship in the past 10 years
4️⃣ Not placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in a County Senior Road Championship in the past 10 years
5️⃣ Not a scoring member of a winning club team in the County Intermediate Road Championship in the past 10 years
6️⃣ Not a scoring member of a winning club team in the County Senior Road Championship in the past 10 years

🔹 Exception to rules 5 & 6:
If only one scoring team completed that championship, this restriction does not apply.

🔹 Important age rule:
👉 All athletes aged 16–19 (by 31st December in the year of competition) are classed as Novice, regardless of the above criteria.
